Are steel doors better than wooden doors?
For most Kerala homes, yes. Steel doors are termite-proof, fire-resistant and do not swell or warp in the monsoon. They also lock at several points along the frame, so they are harder to force open.
When should a steel door be installed?
Choose your door while planning, so the wall opening is built to the right size. The door is installed after plastering and flooring are finished.
Will a steel door rust near the coast?
No. The steel is galvanised, primed and powder-coated for triple protection against rust, even in coastal and humid areas.
